  7. AppMan: AppMan places a small button in the lower left, lower right, upper 
  8.     left, or upper right corner of the screen. Tapping on this button will 
  9.     popup a list of all currently running applications. You can select one, 
  10.     and it will be brought to the front of all the other applications. In 
  11.     addition to running applications, Notes, Card, and Connection are also 
  12.     in the list.

  20.     the Newton, saving as much as 10k in heap, and offering quick access to

  37.     your schedule around the way you work, rather than the other way around.
  38.     It offers drag-and-drop creation of new items from almost anywhere on the

  40.     integrated agenda display.

  43. Fax Cover Creator: Fax Cover Creator allows you to create customize fax cover 
  44.     sheets, right on your Newton. You can lay out text, shapes, lines, fields 
  45.     (information filled in from the current fax), and pictures. You are 
  46.     presented with a scaled down image of the full page upon which you can 
  47.     drag out the desired items. After building your cover sheet, you can beam 
  48.     it to another Newton running Fax Cover Creator. You can create as many 
  49.     different cover sheets as you like, and they will all be available in the 
  50.     cover sheet selection of the fax slip.

  53. Frogs Vs. Cars:    Similar to the old Frogger arcade game, in Frogs vs. Cars you 
  54.     take the role of a small frog trying to cross a busy street and swiftly
  55.     flowing river. Move fast or your road pizza!

  58. Graph Paper 2.0: Graph Paper allows you to create ruled notes from the built 
  59.     in NotePad application. You can set the spacing of the lines, or even create 
  60.     notes with no lines at all.

  63. KeyMan 2.0: Modifies the built in keyboards (adding quick drag and drop 
  64.     copying, and a multi-function calculator with memory to the default 
  65.     typewriter and numeric keypads, respectively) and adds a fifth keyboard

  67.     single finger). Shareware, $20.

  69. NoteMan 2.0: Quick an easy access to the NotePad from any Newton
  70.      application. Now includes 4 placement settings and built-in preferences.

  73. NotePad Converter: Allows you to convert one type of note (Note, Checklist,
  74.     Outline, or Graph Paper) to another, and back.

  77. Order Form: If you're in retail, you may look longingly at your Newton as you 
  78.     take down orders on paper. Fret no more! Order Form allows you to record 
  79.     orders directly on your Newton. You create a custom list of all your 
  80.     products, and choose a customer's purchases from a popup list. All of a 
  81.     customer's information can be recorded right on the form, along with 
  82.     credit card or check information. Product lists can be beamed from one 
  83.     Newton to another. Order Form can handle taxed and non-taxed items, with 
  84.     two levels of taxation. It can also deal with discounts (fixed and 
  85.     percentage based) and shipping costs (ditto.) When you print out an order, 
  86.     you can print it as either an invoice, packing slip, or price quote.

  89. Package Popup: Quickly popup a list of all installed packages, and launch 
  90.     any with a tap (automatically thawing and re-freezing them if they're 
  91.     frozen.) Also rotate the screen from the NotePad, and restart or put 
  92.     the Newton to sleep.

  95. Person <-> Co.: Allows you to change name cards from person to company, a 
  96.     capability the built in Names file lacks.

  99. Protektor: Lets you password protect applications to prevent unwanted access
  100.     to sensitive data.

  103. Rocks In Space: You're the sole surviving space ship from your squadron of
  104.     asteroid destroyers. It's now up to you to clear the massive asteroid field
  105.     that you find yourself immersed in. Be careful, as some odd shaped asteroids
  106.     have been spotted!

  109. Speed: Somewhat toned down from it's 1.x incarnation, Speed 2.0 introduces 
  110.     a new quick access method, as well as maintaining all the old methods.

  113. Smart Caps: Transforms text from all caps or mixed caps to properly 
  114.     capitalized text, useful for those who write in all caps.

  117. Stand Alone, Inc.'s Freeze Utilities: A package of enhancements for the new 
  118.     freezing functionality built into Newton 2.0. It does the following:
  119.     - Turns on package freezing
  120.     - Grays frozen icons (turns them gray, rather than making them snowflakes.)
  121.     - Allows you to launch a frozen application by tapping on it's icon, rather 
  122.         than first tapping to thaw it, then tapping again to launch it.
  123.     - Fixes a bug in the OS, where frozen packages are refiled into their 
  124.         original (pre-frozen) folder upon thawing.

  127. Stand Alone, Inc.'s Trash Utilities: Allows you to control the animation that 
  128.     happens when you delete an item. Some people have grown tired of the 
  129.     crumple-toss effect that normally occurs, so this allows you to eliminate that.

  132. Stationery Pack: Stationery Pack is a collection of seven pieces of NotePad 
  133.     stationery. These are: Blank Note, Graph Paper, Location Note, Phone 
  134.     Message, Prioritized Note, Shopping List, and Time Card. You can install 
  135.     these as individual packages, allowing you to only use the ones you need. 
  136.     They all behave like the built in note types (note, outline, and 
  137.     checklist,) allowing printing, faxing, beaming, and emailing.

  140. Super NotePad:    Adds a navigation bar to your NotePad to make getting around from
  141.     note to note quicker. Also lets you password protect folders, encrypt notes, and
  142.     set up custom filters.

  147. Super Sorter 1.1: a fast, usable list manager for Newton! Keep an unlimited 
  148.     amount of lists, each with an unlimited number of items and (you guessed 
  149.     it) an unlimited amount of information associated with each item.

  152. Wake Up Week: Wake Up Week is, at heart, a replacement for the built in overview 
  153.     in the calendar application. However, it can be configured to appear in other 
  154.     places besides just the calendar, and is much more powerful than the built in 
  155.     overview. Basically, when you open Wake Up Week you are presented with a list 
  156.     of all upcoming Meetings, Day Notes, and To Do's over a particular period. 
  157.     Initially this is one week (just like the overview in the calendar) but it is
  158.     easy to change this to view either a longer or shorter period of time. You can 
  159.     also file to dos and date items in your folders, and view only a particular 
  160.     folder's contents.

  163. El'barqs: El'barqs is a crossword letter game for the newton. It allows you
  164.     to place various letter tiles on the board to create words. You can 
  165.     play against up to three other human or Newton players.

  168. Backgammon: Backgammon is a Newton implementation of the classic board game.
  169.     You can play against the computer or a human opponent.

  172. Periodic Table: Adds a new entry to the formulas app with a periodic table.
  173.     Clicking on an element brings up the data (such as atomic weight and volume) 
  174.     of it. Also, molecular weights of compounds can be found.

  177. NotePopper:    places a button in your statusBar that will pop up a list of notes
  178.     to which selected text can be appended.

  184. Scroll Menus: Scroll menus will allow any menu with too many items to fit on screen 
  185.     to scroll. If there are more items after the items shown, tapping on the down 
  186.     arrow will show the next screenful, and tapping the up arrow will show the 
  187.     previous screen. The most common use for this is the card app in the extras 
  188.     drawer. Now, if there are more than 23 packages installed on your newton, you 
  189.     can get to all of them to delete those you no longer want.

  192. Score Pad: lets you keep score in two player games.

  195. Speed: Speed is a collection of improvements to the built in names file. The
  196.      main one is a modification to the filing system that speeds it up by as 
  197.      much as 1000%. It also allows emails address to be viewed in the card 
  198.      view, and provides several methods of quickly accessing the names file.
  199.      Speed also speeds up the Note Pad by a similar amount.

  202. Jumble: a word search game. Jumble will create puzzles with words hidden
  203.     within. There are preset word lists, or you can create completely
  204.     random puzzles.

  209. Constants: Places a new entry in your formulas app that allows access to a
  210.     variety of physical constants.

  213. Drop To Do: An enhancement to the standard To Do list on the Newton, Drop To Do
  214.     allows you to jot down To Do items in the note pad and drag and drop them
  215.     onto a small button, adding them to the To Do list. It also lets you set
  216.     priorities on various To Do items (from 1 to 100) and can alert you when
  217.     you have an upcoming To Do.

  220. KeyMan: Adds a row of keys to the normal keyboard (select all, cut, copy,
  221.     paste, open Grafitti, front-delete,) a calculator display to the numeric
  222.     keypad (for small calculations,) and a month view to the date keypad (to
  223.     paste a selected day into the current text view.)

  226. Clipper: Clipper places a button in the status bar of the notepad, or a floating, 
  227.     draggable button anywhere on the newton screen. You can select text and drag 
  228.     it onto the button to 'clip' it. Tapping on the button will bring up a list of 
  229.     all such clippings. Selecting one will paste it after the current insertion 
  230.     point.

  233. Note Man:    Places a small button in the upper left of your screen that will
  234.     close the note pad, or, if another app is in front of it, will bring the
  235.     note pad to the front.

  238. Graph Paper: Places a button in the notepad that will make the notepad look
  239.     like a sheet of graphpaper (note: does *not* show up on printing or faxing.)

  242. User Picker: Allows you to store multiple configurations (handwriting
  243.     recognition, name, address, etc.,) in the same newton, and switch between 
  244.     them.

  247. Kwoter: A simple applet that will put up a humorous or insightful quote when you
  248.     turn on your newton or awaken it from sleep. It can be configured to wait for 
  249.     a specific length of time before showing, using the prefs.

  252. What Error: Gives more information when an error message pops up.

  255. Names To All Overview: Sets the name file to open to all names in the overview
  256.     mode at startup, so that names app opens faster.

  259. In Box Expander: Allows mail and beamed items to be received on the card or
  260.     internal store. Also makes in and out boxes, connection, and card slips
  261.     draggable.

  264. Librarian: Saves your place in books and bookmarks you make through hard
  265.     restarts. Also allows you to use the power switch as a 'next page' button.

  268. NameSelector: Pops up a window in which a single character can be entered.
  269.     After writing that letter, it opens the name file and moves to the name which
  270.     starts with the letter written.

  273. Store Keeper: Changes the default store whenever you're in Names or Dates so
  274.     that information entered there always ends up on the internal store.

  277. Capitalizor: Allows you to change the case of an entire note to all upper or
  278.     lower case, or capitalize all words in a note.

  281. Hourly Chime: Allows you to make the newton chime periodically, on the hour or
  282.     at some other interval.

  285. No Lines:    Removes the lines from the Note Pad application.

  288. Big Notes: Lets you have notes in the note pad up to 32k in size (the standard
  289.     limit is 4k.) Completely transparent, just keep writing.

  292. More Folders: More Folders is a utility to improve the accessibilty of the 
  293.     filing on the Newton, as well as to allow for more filing categories. 
  294.     When you want to file an item, you tap on the folder icon, and a pop up 
  295.     list pops up. The current folder has a check mark next to it, and you can 
  296.     file an item simply by tapping on the new folder. To edit your folders, 
  297.     you tap on the "Edit Folders" item (the last one on the list.) Included 
  298.     in the package is Scroll Menus, so that if you want more than 19 folders 
  299.     you can view them all on screen.

  302. PackFix: PackFix is a small autopart (no extras drawer icon) which will check 
  303.     each installed store (on a message pad these are the internal RAM and a 
  304.     single PCMCIA memory card, if installed) for bad package data. If such bad 
  305.     data exists, if could be causing -10401 errors when your newton starts up or 
  306.     the storage card is inserted. PackFix will remove this bad data and report 
  307.     to you it's findings.
